Thinking about upgrading the cabin – ambient lighting and maybe some trim work

I've had my Mercedes E-Class for a couple years now and honestly the driving experience is great, but the interior is starting to feel a bit dated compared to some of the newer cars I see around. I'm not looking to go crazy with the mods, but I've been thinking about adding some ambient lighting to give it that modern luxury feel, maybe redo some of the trim pieces in a nicer finish. The original wood has some scratches that bother me every time I look at them, and I've seen some cars with those subtle light strips integrated into the doors and dash that look really clean when done right. The thing is I'm pretty particular about these things and I don't want it to look like a cheap aftermarket job with wires hanging out or lights that are too bright.
