Are Logistics Systems Really Worth It for Small Businesses?

I run a mid sized home decor business with my wife and lately our biggest issue has been keeping up with orders once they leave the warehouse. Customers keep asking for updates and sometimes even our own staff cannot track what is delayed or already delivered. Last week one of our suppliers suggested using logistics management solutions to organize inventory shipments and communication in one place. It sounds helpful but I am curious if smaller businesses actually benefit from these systems or if they are mainly designed for large corporations. Anyone here have real experience with this?
