I'm still smiling about this. My 2016 A6 allroad started having the classic mechatronic failure symptoms – intermittent gear engagement, flashing PRNDS, the works. Dealership quoted me something insane for a whole new unit. A friend who races Audi's on the weekend told me to look for an Accomplished Transmission Specialist Sharjah who actually understands how these units work internally instead of just swapping parts. Took it to a small workshop behind the industrial area and the owner spent an hour explaining that 90 percent of the time it's just worn solenoids and a leaking seal plate. He rebuilt my existing unit with upgraded parts, replaced the faulty solenoids, and charged me less than a third of what the dealer wanted. The car shifts like new and he gave me a six month warranty on his work. I honestly didn't know anyone still did this level of repair here. Just wanted to share because I almost sold the car out of frustration. Anyone else had a great experience with a shop that actually repairs rather than replaces?
