The Weekly Schedule & Rotation
The Horizon calendar operates on a strict weekly cadence that never stops. Seasons automatically change every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EDT / 2:30 p.m. UTC. The schedule follows a predictable, sequential rotation designed to keep the gameplay fresh, challenging, and varied:
Summer (Wet Season): Expect sudden downpours, slick asphalt, and localized flooding in low-lying areas.
Autumn (Storm Season): High winds, unpredictable weather patterns, and debris on the roads make high-speed runs chaotic.

How the Transition Works
You do not need to worry about missing the swap or getting abruptly kicked out of the game when the time comes. Exactly 10 minutes before the scheduled reset, a warning banner alongside a live countdown timer will pop up at the top of your screen.
This gives you plenty of notice to wrap up any ongoing PR stunts, Horizon Arcade events, or open-world speed traps. Once the timer strikes zero, the game seamlessly reloads the open world right around you, instantly generating the new weather conditions, shifting the environment, and populating the map with a brand-new set of seasonal activities.
The Workarounds: Custom Season Selection
Even though you cannot change the live season during free-roam sessions, the game does offer two excellent ways to bypass the server limitations when you want full creative control over your environment:
EventLab: If you want to race under specific atmospheric conditions, you can head over to the Creative Hub and build a custom race or blueprint. Inside the event settings, you have total freedom to manually force any season, time of day, or specific weather preset you desire.
Photo Mode: For the photographers out there, you do not have to wait a month for the perfect backdrop. Pulling up Photo Mode allows you to temporarily manipulate the time of day and atmospheric conditions on the fly, making it incredibly easy to capture that perfect, stylized screenshot.
Seasonal Impact on Gameplay
Every single weekly rotation completely refreshes your Festival Playlist. The moment the season rolls over, a fresh wave of seasonal championships, PR stunts, photo challenges, and treasure hunts drops into the menu, giving you a brand-new list of reward cars and points to chase down.
Beyond the rewards, you must adapt your garage to the elements. When winter arrives, heavy snow coats high-altitude regions and city limits. This dramatically reduces surface traction. If you try taking a rear-wheel-drive supercar up into the mountains without swapping to off-road tires or specialized winter tire compounds, you are going to have a rough time keeping it on the road. Keep an eye on the calendar, prep your tuning setups ahead of Thursday, and use the weekly changes to experiment with cars you might otherwise leave sitting in your garage!
