I’m starting to prepare for the ACT and would like to hear from other students who are working toward the exam.
I’ve been reviewing the main areas, but I’m finding that knowing the material and answering questions under time pressure are two different things. The English and Math sections especially seem to require a good balance of accuracy and speed, while Reading and Science require careful reading without spending too much time on any one question.
I’ve also been using an ACT Certification Practice Test to get a better idea of where I’m making mistakes and which areas need more review.
For anyone who has already taken the ACT, what worked best for you? Did you focus more on full-length practice tests, individual sections, or reviewing specific topics?
And how did you handle the time limits? Any study tips that actually made a difference would be appreciated.
Anyone else preparing for the ACT?
