Diablo 4 patch 3.1.1 has taken some of the sting out of Season 14's Mythic grind. Pandemonium Fragments come in more reliably, the Cube recipe is cheaper, and high-Torment farming no longer feels quite so wasteful. You will still need a solid endgame build, though, and a few Diablo 4 runes can help round out a character before you start chasing Mythics in earnest.

What the patch changesThe biggest adjustment is the new Fragment flow. Corrupted Reaper can drop up to two Fragments, with better rewards tied to Torment level. The repeatable Glints of Hope reward also guarantees one Fragment, which gives reputation activities a useful purpose after the main track is finished. On top of that, the Horadric Cube now asks for four Fragments instead of five. That is a 20 percent reduction in the cost of every conversion.

Deathtoll Chambers are more useful as well. At high Torment levels, they guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key, so you are not forced to run several chambers and hope the next attempt pays off. The basic loop is much easier to plan now. Run Chambers, collect keys, defeat Corrupted Reaper, then decide whether the Fragments are worth spending. It is still a grind, but at least the grind has fewer dead ends.

Where your time is best spentIf you are farming specifically for Pandemonium Fragments, do not rush into content your build can barely handle. A fast, clean run usually beats a higher Torment clear filled with deaths and long recovery periods. Keep the route simple and watch how long each complete cycle takes.

Push to the highest Torment where Deathtoll Chambers stay consistent.
Save Superior Lair Keys for Corrupted Reaper runs you can finish without repeated deaths.
Mix Glints of Hope progress into the route instead of treating it as a separate chore.
Keep useful Uniques until you have checked every build that might need them.

Corrupted Reaper is still the main target, but the fight rewards patience more than reckless damage. Stay out of obvious attack lanes during teleport patterns and move away from active hazards. Ranged players can create extra projectile pressure by standing too far back, while melee builds often get better damage windows by staying close and moving at the right moment. A reliable kill matters more than a flashy one.

Why the Mythic chase still feels awkwardThe patch fixes the speed problem, not the targeting problem. The Cube turns one class-specific Unique and four Fragments into a random Mythic from that class. That sounds focused, but the result can still be useless for your build. More attempts soften the disappointment. They do not remove it. If you are chasing one particular item, the system still asks you to gamble valuable materials with very little control.

For now, spend Fragments when your character already has a dependable endgame setup and the class pool contains several worthwhile outcomes. Do not sacrifice an excellent alternative-build Unique just because you have reached four Fragments. Patch 3.1.1 makes Mythic crafting cheaper and keeps high-Torment farming moving, but the long-term answer probably needs better targeting. Until that happens, careful farming and sensible saving will matter more than simply trying every conversion as soon as possible.
