Path of Exile 3.29, Curse of the Allflame, is starting to look less like a single gimmick league and more like a tidy-up of the game's rough edges. The launch is set for July 24 at 1:00 PM PDT, or July 25 at 4:00 AM Beijing Time. Until the full reveal on July 16, many players will be checking POE currency prices and sketching out league starters, but there is still too much missing to call the meta with confidence.

The teasers have shown a dark sea, a lantern, and something waking below the surface. That last part has led to plenty of talk about an underground rework. It is a fair guess, but nothing like that has been confirmed yet. The safer reading is that these images may belong to one connected system, perhaps sending players from ordinary maps into deeper encounters with rising danger and better rewards. Whether that means exploration, pursuit, or a new form of branching content will have to wait for the reveal.

What has been confirmed already is more interesting than it first appears. Tidebreaker is gaining Brine Charges, which convert part of its charge identity into extra cold and lightning damage. Holy Hammers of Spirals spends every Power Charge to create a wider hammer pattern, so charge generation becomes part of the attack rhythm rather than a passive bonus. Reap of Butchery takes the opposite route. It asks the player to fight closer, cast more deliberately, and lean harder into physical damage over time. These are not simple upgrades. Each one asks for a different kind of build.

Early Build Trade-Offs in 3.29Option Main demand Early risk
Holy Hammers Fast Power Charge recovery Weak downtime
Reap of Butchery Close-range defence Slower casting

The smaller interface changes may have the widest effect. An Animate Guardian equipment window should let players see exactly what the minion is wearing instead of relying on memory. New keyword explanations could do something similar for the game's dense wording. You still need to understand the mechanics, but you may not have to search three wikis to remember what a modifier means. That is a meaningful quality-of-life change, especially for returning players and anyone experimenting with minions.

Mirage also ends before the new league begins, closing on July 20 at 3:00 PM PDT. Some rewards, including Astrolabes and Exceptional Support Gems, will remain, while the main Mirage system will not become permanent content. So spend any remaining time-limited rewards wisely, keep a backup starter skill ready, and wait for the patch notes before committing to expensive gear. A sensible launch plan may include cheap Path of exile currency only after the real acquisition details are known.
